Prof Wendy Cross

Wendy Cross 2

A mental health nurse with 35 years experience, her primary research interests include mental health and mental health nursing, clinical supervision, practice development, workplace learning and broad based research methods including both quantitative and qualitative paradigms. She is currently involved in funded research projects on early psychosis, clinical supervision, evaluation of mental health services and workplace learning and working clinically in crisis teams in the emergency department at Monash Health.

Former professor of mental health nursing at Monash Nursing and Midwifery and later appointed professor and head of school, she has held senior executive and academic appointments in nursing at Monash Health, Deakin University and the University of Western Sydney. Currently President of the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses; fellow of the Australian College of Nursing; chair of the Council of Deans of Nursing and Midwifery (Australia & New Zealand); director of the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council, the Nursing and Midwifery Health Program Victoria and Bentleigh Bayside Community Health; and former ministerial appointment to the Chisholm Institute of TAFE board.

Professor Cross is regularly sought for advice internationally and is a member of the International Nursing and Midwifery Advisory Board to Hamad Medical Corporation in Qatar and the School of Health Sciences at Caritas Institute of Higher Education in Hong Kong.
