Roundtable Discussions 26-27 April 2012
The Commission held a series of four Roundtable discussions on 26-27 April 2012. The purpose of the Roundtables were to invite input and consult with people with a lived experience of mental health difficulties, their families and support people along with leaders from across sectors about the development of the first annual National Report Card on Mental Health and Suicide Prevention.
Youth Roundtable: Western Australia 1 June 2012
The Youth Roundtable: Western Australia was a joint initiative of the Commission, the Western Australian Mental Health Commission (WA MHC) and the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Youth Mental Health Project Implementation Steering Group. The roundtable provided the opportunity for young people from regional and metropolitan WA to contribute to the Commission’s development of the first annual National Report Card on Mental Health and Suicide prevention as well as participate in the planning of significant local developments. It also sought to find out what works in mental health for the youth of WA and what works to promote wellness and recovery.
"Even the most disadvantaged Australians should be able to lead a 'contributing life,' whatever that means for them and this simple goal will be our touchstone and yardstick."
