The draft Advice on the National Suicide Prevention Strategy is the first major deliverable for the National Suicide Prevention Office. It brings together first-hand evidence provided by people with lived and living experience of suicide, the latest research, and recommendations from existing inquiries and reports to lay out a path that will deliver a reduction in the number of lives lost to suicide nationally.
Development of the National Suicide Prevention Outcomes Framework
The National Suicide Prevention Office is developing the National Suicide Prevention Outcomes Framework to outline key outcomes relating to Suicide Prevention and how to measure whether progress against them is being made.
National Suicide Prevention Adviser’s Final Advice
In July 2019, Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced the commitment of the Australian Government to working ‘towards zero suicides’ and the appointment of the First National Suicide Prevention Adviser.
