Mentally Healthy Workplace Alliance

An Alliance of national organisations representing business, union, mental health, workplace health, regulators and government sectors leading change to promote and create mentally healthy workplaces.

Established by the Commission in 2012, the Alliance aims to make sure all people in the workplace, including people who experience mental health challenges and mental illness, and those who support them, are engaged in meaningful and safe work and are well supported. This includes minimising harm, promoting protective factors and having positive cultures that are conducive to mental wellbeing. It also recognises that a mentally healthy workplace is not just good for people, it is also very good for business.

All members share a commitment to supporting Australian workplaces to take active steps to create workplaces that are mentally healthy.

The Commission acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands throughout Australia.
We pay our respects to their clans, and to the elders, past and present, and acknowledge their continuing connection to land, sea and community.

Diversity

The Commission is committed to embracing diversity and eliminating all forms of discrimination in the provision of health services. The Commission welcomes all people irrespective of ethnicity, lifestyle choice, faith, sexual orientation and gender identity.

Lived Experience

We acknowledge the individual and collective contributions of those with a lived and living experience of mental ill-health and suicide, and those who love, have loved and care for them. Each person’s journey is unique and a valued contribution to Australia’s commitment to mental health suicide prevention systems reform.
